New releases 2026.4 and 2026.5, August 2026

Modified on Wed, 2 Sep at 5:36 AM

This August, we've delivered a range of enhancements across MAGICapp, with a particular focus on strengthening integration with the wider evidence ecosystem and streamlining guideline development workflows. Highlights include new and improved integrations with GRADEpro and RevMan Web, support for exporting references as RIS files, enhancements to PICO and recommendation management, and a variety of improvements for guideline authors and administrators.

The main changes in these releases are:

Enhanced integration with the evidence ecosystem: GRADEpro and RevMan Web

We've enhanced MAGICapp's integration with evidence synthesis tools to support smoother evidence-to-guideline workflows.

  • GRADEpro: The GRADEpro integration has been refreshed to provide a more robust and reliable import experience. See more here.
  • RevMan Web: MAGICapp now integrates directly with RevMan Web, allowing dynamic Summary of Findings tables from RevMan Web reviews to be imported as PICOs. See more here.

Export reference lists as RIS files

You can now export reference lists directly to RIS files, making it easier to transfer citations to supported reference management tools and workflows. Learn more here.

You can now add a link to a custom PDF instead of using the automatically generated MAGICapp PDF. Custom PDF links can be added when publishing and updated after publication. Read more here.

Improved linking of PICOs to recommendations

Improved import of PICOs and recommendations

You can now import PICOs and recommendations more easily from other guidelines you have access to, including specific drafts and published versions. Read more here.

Filters for unresolved track changes and comments

New content filters make it easier to identify sections and recommendations that still require attention during review. Authors can quickly display content with unresolved tracked changes or unresolved comments and work through outstanding items more efficiently. Read more here.

Update status labels without republishing

You can now change the status label of a published guideline without creating a new guideline version, making it easier to keep readers informed when the guideline's status changes. Read more here.

Improved labelling of published guideline versions

We've updated the labels used for published guideline versions to make version status clearer when viewing publication history:

  • The version designated as the current version is displayed with a blue label
  • Versions older than the current version are displayed with a red 'Outdated' label
  • Versions newer than the current version are displayed with an orange 'Preliminary' label.

This makes it easier to quickly identify the status of published versions and understand their relationship to the current version at a glance. Read more here.

Invite History section for tracking pending user invitations

When inviting users to MAGICapp, invitations are sent by email to users who do not yet have an account. You can now monitor all outstanding invitations in Invite History, giving you greater visibility into pending invites and the ability to revoke invitations that are no longer required. Learn more here.

Bulk edit user permissions

Guideline administrators can now update permissions for multiple users at once, making it faster and easier to manage access and roles across a guideline. Learn more here

You can now open guidelines directly from the Groups page in the Organization Control Panel, making it easier to see and access the guidelines where each group is being used. Read more here.

Users invited by email to vote in a poll now receive a direct link to the relevant guideline, making it easier to access the content and participate in the poll. Read more here.

Show or hide Decision Aids across a guideline

You can now choose whether the Decision Aid tab is displayed across all recommendations in a guideline, making it easier to manage Decision Aid visibility in one place. Read more here.
