New Word export and more choices for track changes in PDF/Word

We have redone our Word export to match the PDF. You now get a Word document automatically every time you export a PDF.

For PDF/Word exports you can now choose to have Track changes accepted, rejected or showing. The Word export gets the same settings as the PDF.

Guideline overview for organisation admins

We have added a "Guidelines" overview in the Organisation control panel.  You get a list of all guidelines the organisation owns, with key information and filtering mechanisms, like IDs and links, Start date, Public status, last edit date, and count of recommendations and PICOs (both in last published and in recent draft).

In an upcoming release we will also add an overview over all the Admins and Authors in all guidelines belonging to the organisation, with features to easily remove users from all guidelines, and see active permissions for all users.

Summary of findings tables for Qualitative Evidence (with CERQual)

You can now create Summary of findings tables for Qualitative Evidence, with quality assessment following the GRADE CERQual framework. You can find more details about this feature in our help article.

Guideline customization for GRADE strength label options

Organisations now have several GRADE recommendation strength label options that you can enable (e.g. "Conditional" instead of "Weak"). Admins can do this for the whole org in the Org control panel, or for an individual guideline (e.g. if you want to override the default setting). The choice sets were based on user requests. Organisations with previous custom labels have the matching choice set (no need to change labels).

Voting: See recommendation while you vote

When you open the dialog to vote in a Poll you have been invited to, you now see the whole recommendation and all underlying content.

In our upcoming release, we have created a Poll overview for easier access to all polls in a guideline.

A new "Task manager"

We have created a task manager, where admins and authors can place tasks to be done, assigning responsible person, due dates and task status. You can sort and filter, and the tasks will have different colors based on their status. You find it in guideline options menu, together with Information and documents (where you can upload important documents and information for your guideline panel) and Checklists.

Details on how authors can create tasks are in the screenshot below.

More prominent guideline title and guideline links

Guideline title is put in a more prominent position, which also accommodate longer titles. This shifts the version number and publication date to the right, where readers have (as before) had access to subscribe, PDF, version history, links, and other info about the guideline. Note that for authors the "Edit" button in draft has shifted from left to right.

Evidence to Decision judgements design modification

Evidence to Decision judgements were previously radio buttons (i.e. all options show with option to select one). This was too crowded, especially for multiple comparisons. We changed this to a dropdown design that takes up less vertical space. In the upcoming release, guideline admins will be able to set their preferred choice of layout for their guideline.

Updated Knowledge Base!

We recently switched to a new platform for our Knowledge Base - same content (continuously updated), but a new look!

New MAGICapp Academy & YouTube tutorial videos!

Check out tutorial videos on our newly created MAGICapp Academy or our YouTube channel! We have a long tutorial that is an overview of the whole platform (~55 minutes, with labelled chapters for navigation) - great for new users and those wanting a refresher. We also have brief videos about specific features, arranged by topic. Stay tuned for more tutorial videos and webinars!

Smaller items and bug fixes

  • For authors, outcome quality assessment has attachments table with links to all files and images added to an outcome and outcome's references
  • PICO summary in recommendations shows as tab with normal text, not a pop-up
  • Protective efficacy added as an effect measure option for outcomes
  • You can force language in widgets
  • File scanning automatically retry if it times out
  • Decision aid tab do not show if there are no PICOs selected for the recommendation, or if the PICOs have no outcomes or practical issues
  • Various bug fixes
