Mobile app: how to get one

MAGICapp is a webapp, and we have put in place offline functionality, which means you can read downloaded content when you have no internet connection

To add a mobile app icon on your smartphone or tablet here are the 4 steps to follow. Adding a mobile app icon is of course totally free.

Most smartphones and tablets work in the same way, but the interface looks different on different browsers. Below is shown how this is done on apple devices (ipad/iphone)

First: Go to www.magicapp.org and navigate to the page you want to open up when you click the app from your phone. You can use the main page, an Organization specific page, or a single guideline. You can link to multiple Organizations and single guidelines, just repeat the below steps for each of them.

Example for iPhone/iPad:

1. Go to www.magicapp.org (use safari for iPhone), navigate to the page you want to open up when you click the app from your phone. You can use the MAGIC main page, an Organization specific page, or a single guideline. Get to the Safari footer-menu and click the 'extend' button.

2. Then you get shown some choices - click 'Add to Home screen'
Note: For some iPhone users there are so many choices that you have to scroll sideways to get to the 'Add to Home screen' option.

3. You get a choice to change name, and then click 'Add'
The best option is to choose a short name, as it will look better on your smartphone screen. Suggestions for names: MAGIC or MAGIC:[the organization you link to] or Short name of a specific guideline, like ['Stroke', 'Wrist fracture', 'Opioid management']

4. Now you have a mobile app icon on your screen
Clicking it will take you straight to all our guidelines (or to a specific Organization page or guideline if that is what you chose).
To put content offline, so it can be used without internet connection, navigate to the MAGIC home page, and click 'Enable Offline access' on the options-menu of the guideline you want to put offline.
